This project is to build a very large dollhouse from a Real Good Toys kit that was marketed out of Vermont several years ago. It is named ‘Thornhill’ and measures 46"L x 28"W x 36"T (1:12 scale).
The dollhouse opens on all four sides and contains fourteen rooms, although that may be reduced by one in order to make the entry run entirely front to back.
The kit contains all of the components including quoins, dentil trim, chimneys, front step, hinges and magnets as well as interior and exterior doors, windows, hardware, staircases, and trim. Shingles were available but were not purchased as it was unknown what type of roofing would be most appropriate in the final assembly. Additionally, some components were to be replaced, including the addition of a circular staircase, better hinges, and roof support hinges. One window would be replaced by a dutch door for the kitchen.
The following are photos of some of the pages from the brochure. Apologize for any fuzziness, etc. It was difficult to get a good focus or keep the flash from shining off the pages.
And here’s a bit more on the kit from a couple of web sites.
